چکیده
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) may culminate in sudden death (SCD) if resuscitation efforts are unsuccessful or absent. The pathogenesis and system of care for in-hospital out-of-hospital (IHCA OHCA) different. We sought to determine predictors readmission these patients presenting with SCA surviving discharge. All >18 years age from 2016-2019 were included. Data abstracted using the International Classification Diseases 10th Revision-Clinical Modification Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD). Patient demographics, presence comorbidities, rhythm, evaluated. Out 51,998,206 admissions between 2016 2019, 35,050 (0.07%) presented SCA. IHCA was commoner than OHCA [21,347 (60.9%) vs 13,703 (39.1%)]. Patients younger [67 69 years, p <0.0001] had overall lower systemic comorbidities [Charlson’s comorbidity index (CCI) – OHCA: 2.0 (1.0-3.0) IHCA: (1.0-4.0) points, P<0.0001]. Pulseless electrical activity (PEA) predominant rhythm but much higher group [overall: 68.6%, 51.5% 95.4%, p<0.0001]. Ventricular arrhythmia (VA) [ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (VF)] as compared [OHCA: 2,878 (29.9%) 6,761 (70.1%), Of getting admitted SCA, 26,080 (74.41%) died at first admission, a mortality [IHCA 15,690 (73.5% mortality) 10,390 (75.82% mortality), At 90-day follow-up, percentage PEA 3,012 (90.9%) vs. 2,573 (45.5%), p<0.0001] similar admission. Young predicted readmissions whereas diabetes mellitus renal diseases rates both groups (P<0.0001). irrespective type admission well readmission. Younger (<60 years) more likely get readmitted, which is alarming needs proper evaluation this cohort prevent recurrences reduce among survivors.

OBJECTIVES To analyze the chronobiological and time variations of out- hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). DESIGN A retrospective descriptive study was made. PATIENTS All cases of OHCA of cardiac origin registered over 18 months in the database of the emergency medical service (EMS) of the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León (Spain) were evaluated. VARIABLES ANALYZED: Age, sex, recovery of ...
متن کاملPredictors of Survival From Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest
Background—Prior studies have identified key predictors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), but differences exist in the magnitude of these findings. In this meta-analysis, we evaluated the strength of associations between OHCA and key factors (event witnessed by a bystander or emergency medical services [EMS], provision of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR], initial cardiac rh...

متن کاملOut-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Myocardial disease and death from cardiac arrest remain significant public health problems. Sudden death events and out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) are encountered frequently by emergency medical services. Despite more than 30 years of research, survival rates remain extremely low. This article reviews access and presentations, demographics, OHCA outcomes, and response systems and proces...
متن کامل[Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest].
An 84-year-old man called the emergency service from his home because of recent chest pain associated with dyspnea. He had a long-standing history of coronary artery disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. One minute after the basic life support team arrived, the patient went into cardiac arrest. The rescuers deployed their automated external defibrillator, and 1 electric shock was d...
